One Day Treks   One Night Expeditions    Multi-Day Expeditions    Climbing and Abseiling

Climbing and abseiling

These sessions are by arrangement.  Prices from £140 for two people per day, and an additional £35 per person from 3 to 6 clients.  We can either go to an indoor climbing wall or for a real experience on rock in the outdoors.  Ropes harnesses, helmets will be provided.  You will need to be dressed for the outdoors, with suitable footwear such as trainers for the activity  and packed lunch/snacks as required.  In the event of inclement weather this activity may be modified or cancelled depending on the situation.

Linear one day expeditions

Examples of expeditions we can provide are listed below.  In all of these we can cater for up to 10 clients and we can share transport with the leader to and from a central location.  Each of the high level routes (or those over 20km) can be done over 2 days if you are prepared to camp out, but that would be done in smaller groups.  There are other variations such as combining Lairig Ghru with Inverey to make a 3 or even 4 day expedition.  For costs and other queries please contact us.  The times quoted are estimates based on experience of group walking and include meal breaks.  While we have scheduled the 3 sections of the Cateran Trail that we feel are the most interesting, the complete round is also an option.

All of these routes are a small snapshot of what is available in this area of Scotland, they can all be adapted, extended or shortened depending on your own requirements.  Each route is described from one direction, it is of course possible to follow the route the other way round.  Many of them can be undertaken as a wilderness camping expedition if you wish.

Where shown the Ascent indicates the overall amount of going upwards across the whole route, and does not indicate the maximum height above sea level that is reached.  Distances are as measured on a flat map.  The Timings are based on a speed of 3.5 to 4km/h and include an allowance for stops.  Finish times or durations are not prescriptive and within reason clients can take as long as they like.  A more detailed description of each route can be found by clicking on its name.  For an explanation of the difficulty ratings visit the gradings page.  You will require personal equipment to the high level standard.

Introduction to Wild Camping

On a short expedition find out what it is like to get into the real outdoors on foot and survive a night (from £150 per overnight session for up to 3 clients, plus £25 per additional person up to a maximum of 6).  Professional standard equipment is available for hire for a small maintenance charge of £10, which is probably a good idea before you decide to invest in your own gear, please contact us for details.  Hire of sleeping bag involves a cleaning charge of £20.

Linear multi-day camping expeditions.

The above trails and more can be undertaken as guided backpacking expeditions, with professional standard equipment available for hire if you don't have your own.  Examples include Glen Feshie, Minigaig, Lairig an Laoigh, Glen Tilt and many more.  These are equivalent to Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze, Silver and Gold.  Our own Platinum (4 nights away) can be undertaken as well.

Expedition fees start from £120 per day for up to 4 clients, £10 for each additional client to a maximum of 10 in the party.  Any requirements for overnight accommodation to allow an early start or late finish may be extra.
